Recapping the last few days it was a giant party. A Party to the Lord.

Saturday and Sunday we celebrated together Gods faithfulness Stories were given on how God worked. We sang, some danced, some jumped, we stayed up late praying and singing and sharing on how God worked in Greece over the past 21 days.

In everything we did we gave Glory to the Lord. I think God was proud. I think we made him smile. I think He said "well done my little sheep"

Sunday we sang and worshiped again together and then we were challenged by Tom Maharias a Greek from New York City. Many stepped forward dedicating themselves to serve the Lord in some manner full time or whatever the call would be.

Bill Vas. of Australia really summed Operation Gideon up Sunday afternoon. He stated that
Success in Gods eyes is not the numbers contacted or converted, or the amount of Bibles handed out. But success comes with obeying Gods Call and being in the Presence of God.

Hellenic Ministries would like to thank each team member, donator, prayer partner and friend who in some manner listened to Gods Call this summer to be involved in this outreach.
God is working here in Greece, but there is still much to be done.

Pray for Greece and that God would move in Greeks and those abroad to reach these people.

Well tonight the teams have the stories about the nation ..
and how God worked in Greece.

I don't have room here to share but its really exciting.

This morning many of the teams regrouped and went to Athens to see the sights or catch a bit of Olympic Spirit. Tonight we have gathered for reports. We will have detail numbers soon on the amount of contacts and the total count of those that accepted the Lord.

The word from several teams is "We wish we would have had more Bibles to hand out"

Thanks friends for your prayers over the past few days. Its really neat to see how the Lord is working here in Greece. Here are a few reports. I'm hot off the ferry so thanks for your patience on these reports. GKing

REPORT - LITERATURE DISTRIBUTION - Today teams finish any literature distribution and make there way back to Athens for 2 days of worship, celebration and reflection. The teams are tired but excited as they are arriving

Reports from the teams are coming in. Most teams had a great time handing out over 50,000 packs on the Islands. Some teams did have trouble with angry residents and or priests. Most teams received 2 responses. 1 - Positive with tears of joy when receiving the Bibles. - Other responses were negative.

It was a joy when distributing to see people reading the literature as you passed back through a neighborhood to reload on literature packs. Many of the packs were left early in the day or late at night. It must have been amazing as 1000s woke up in the morning with a pack on there door that says "God Loves You"

REPORT - PROCLAMATION EVANGELISM Relationship Evangelism on the Islands On one Island 26 people accepted the Lord. I have heard of more people accepting the Lord with other teams. To respect local Christians we wont mention specific Islands here on the web. More numbers will come in as teams return. It was amazing to see how God set up "Divine Appointments" at specific times for individuals to be at the place where presentations were made. Also it was great as God worked in team members. Many teams were afraid to do the evangelism but were encouraged and strengthened at the right time to Proclaim His Praise in the Islands Some teams spent significant time trying to build relationships with village people near or at the towns they stayed at. Hopefully the stacks of contact cards will develop contacts for future follow up efforts by HM and other Greek Christians. # posted at 12:03 PM |

Some things to pray for today:

Pray for safety as many of the teams return to Athens Today.

Pray for Athens and Safety for the last days of the Games.

Praise the Lord for no significant problems with the outreach

Pray for provisions for literature packs expenses

Pray for strength and attitude for tired but excited teams

Pray for many Greeks that just received Bibles for the first time. Pray that Gods word would root in there heart

The teams for the next 3 days will start focusing on sharing the truth of the Bible about love to anyone they come in contact with. Even a priest if that's the path the Lord has for them. Teams will use whatever method they can to tell people about Jesus (clowning, hanging out in coffee shops, music, whatever draws a crowd) Friday night will be very exciting as teams on 35+ Islands will try to proclaim the Love of Christ at the same time.

Wondering what else is going on in the outreach right now? Well in Athens a few staff members with HM are supporting a 24/7 prayer house at its downtown hall. The PRAYER HOUSE is open for anyone to come and worship the Lord. Also there are areas to leave prayer requests. Information is available on how to pray for each of the Operation Gideon teams and Islands as well as other ministries here during the Olympics. People are free to use art and music in the 7th floor area to worship. On the 8th floor there is a roof top garden where anyone can enjoy a beautiful view of the Acropolis and take a break. Many use the roof to spend some time in the WORD or to Pray.


For the next 3 days remember to Pray for the Teams for wisdom as they share the Gospel.

Pray that God will lead each member to His "divine appointments" for people who need to know God in a real relationship.

For the past 3 days (Tue-Wedns-Thurs) the teams have been settling in at their Islands and praying on different areas of the Island. Some of the team members are fasting a meal-meals or days--- along with the prayer.

Gideo-King was traveling the past 2 days past 3 of the Islands in the Cyclades. I spent most of Wednesday on Mykonos.



As I drove my scooter around the Island I was amazed by the beauty of Gods creation. Also this Island has many beaches.

Although beautiful, Mykonos' town and beaches attract thousands of young foreign and Greek tourists every year. Therefore the atmosphere on the island, especially in the town at night, reflects the heavy presence of homosexuality and general sexual promiscuity and immorality practised on the island.

One of the things Team Atlanta was praying for while I visited them was

For there to be a permanent Christian presence on the island, perhaps a young missionary couple or a small church of believers.

For wisdom in prayer, to break down the spiritual strongholds of perversion and homosexuality.

For islanders and young tourists to somehow have a revelation of the true and living Jesus and to accept him into their hearts and lives.

As you think of the teams today Pray that God would lead people across the path of the teams tomorrow. People that need to have a relationship with Christ.

Teams departed Monday for many Islands. All the teams made it as far as we know except one team who left today. Their Ferry was delayed due to strong winds.

The teams left with the commissioning from Judges and all the teams got sent out with a cheer "A sword for the Lord and for Greece".It was really neat. We made a giant circle and each team came to the center and then we gave a cheer for that team.

Peter G was teaching us on Gideon during the past 4 days and we all realized that we have to do this outreach not in our power but in Gods power. Peter focused on our hearts and as we left we were sent with the message of having Brave Hearts, Encouraged Hearts, Humbled Hearts and Obedient Hearts
